If you’re serious about home security, then Vivint is the system for you. With professional installation, 24/7 professional monitoring, and integrations with Alexa, Google Assistant, Philips Hue, Nest Thermostat, and even Airbnb, the company has more than proved itself in the smart home security market.
However, these impressive features come at a price, and Vivint tends to be on the higher-end. Naturally, we’re looking for ways to save, and since Black Friday and Cyber Monday happen to be the biggest days of savings, we’re hoping to get Vivint for a fraction of its retail price. Is it possible? Read on to find out!
Vivint Black Friday and Cyber Monday: What To Expect
Vivint has yet to announce its Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals this year, so we took a trip down memory lane to see what kinds of promotions Vivint had in the past. We found that in:
- 2011: Vivint offered free activation and installation on any new smart security system, with savings of up to $500 total.
- 2012: Vivint offered the same deal as the previous year, but on Cyber Monday instead of Black Friday.
- 2018: Vivint expanded its Cyber Monday promotion to the entire week, giving a free doorbell camera and free installation to customers, a value of $328!1
FYI: If you’re new to the world of home security and not sure what to look for, head over to our security system buyer’s guide. In it you’ll find everything you need to make a wise purchase for your home and family.
Based on these past promotions, it seems that Vivint’s Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals often include free system activation for new customers. However, since Vivint scratched off its activation fees recently, we’re hoping to see free professional installation instead. That would save us at least $100.
As for equipment discounts, we likely won’t see any on Vivint’s website this coming Black Friday. You see, if you’re going to buy a Vivint system, you’ll need to give its sales hotline a call or request a quote from its website. Vivint doesn’t sell security equipment online. That being said, speaking with a Vivint sales rep around Thanksgiving is your best bet if you want to score discounts or freebies. We know it’s not ideal, but it could be worth your while given Vivint’s higher pricing.
Tip: Want your system to stay on in the event of an internet or power outage? All Vivint systems come with battery and cellular backup so your system will stay on and connected with the professional monitoring center, no matter what.
Vivint Costs: What We Know
Vivint isn’t the most straightforward company when it comes to pricing. You won’t find any pricing information on its website and information on reviews often vary. However, because we tested Vivint ourselves, we can offer you some insight about Vivint’s costs. Keep in mind, though, that Vivint may have changed its prices since, so requesting a quote from the company itself is the best way to get the most accurate information. This is just to give you an idea of what to expect.
All Vivint customers start with equipment packages, which include a touchscreen control panel and a varying number of components (think sensors, security cameras, video doorbells, etc.). Customers then have the option to pay the total package cost upfront or finance their equipment for up to 60 months. Adding peripherals and devices to the system is also an option.

|Monthly Cost with 60-Month financing option||$9.98||$11.83||$17.50||$23.00||$29.83|
Vivint’s equipment is pricey enough, but on top of that, you’ll need to pay a monthly fee for professional monitoring. Plans start at $29.99 per month, but depending on what features you want and what devices you own, you might need to upgrade to a more expensive plan. For example, if you want access to home automation features, that would be $39.99 a month, or if you plan to buy Vivint cameras, you’ll need the $44.99 per month plan to store videos in the cloud. Now you’re probably starting to see just how valuable a Vivint Black Friday or Cyber Monday sale becomes.
